Story Spotlight — “A Second Ago, Tomorrow”
Xelara traced a spiral in the dust. “Two events, one heartbeat,” she said, and the sand obeyed,
flowing backwards into the shape of a door. General Kaelix didn’t wait for permission—he stepped through,
reappearing on the ridge as artillery marked a new present on the enemy’s lines.
In the valley, Xyrrak the Resurgent shook rust from a fallen frame and coaxed it back to motion,
yesterday’s scrap reborn as today’s spear. Farther out, Beastbinder Tal’Zora whistled a storm-call:
a Stormcarver Wyvern banked in the charged air, stitching Unblockable paths across the battlefield.
The defenders tried to pin them with certainty. Oracle Xal Vorith smiled and rescued it away.
Their wall became a memory, their plan a rumor. Time buckled, and the Zalthori walked forward into the space
where victory had already happened.
